Andrew Shao, PhD, has joined Herbalife Ltd., Los Angeles, CA, as vice president, Global Product Science and Safety, effective March 7, 2011. He will be responsible for assuring that all products sold by Herbalife are safe, meet regulatory safety requirements, and that all product claims are scientifically supportable. He’ll report to Dr. Vasilios (Bill) Frankos, former FDA director, division of dietary supplements programs, Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN), who joined the company last April. Dr. Shao joins the company from the Council of Responsible Nutrition (CRN).
